Description

Write and test product or system development code. Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies. Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency). Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback. Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

The AlloyDB Engineering Reliability, Maintainability, and Efficiency (RME) team is a dedicated central function focused on accelerating the database product lifecycle for AlloyDB Omni and AlloyDB Cloud dataplanes. The team acts as the primary Quality Gatekeeper, defining and enforcing exit criteria for all database releases by leveraging Agentic AI technologies, enhancing test infrastructure, improving code coverage, and establishing safe development policies.

Furthermore, the RME team is instrumental in boosting Developer Velocity by utilizing AI/ML to automate repetitive tasks, reduce operational toil for on-callers, and optimize non-production infrastructure costs. Their critical responsibilities also encompass Agile Release Management, ensuring timely qualification, reliable deployment, and adherence to all reliability objectives as the AlloyDB platform expands into the AI and multi-cloud landscape.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience in software development using C++, Python or Go. 3 years of experience designing and developing infrastructure or distributed systems. 1 year of experience leveraging AI tools or frameworks to accelerate development and engineering productivity. Experience designing and developing relational databases, database internals, information retrieval, query planning and execution.

Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.

3 years of experience in a technical leadership role. Experience designing/building Agentic-AI systems and applications, with an understanding of core-systems and application-architecture.

Extended Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience in software development using C++, Python or Go. 3 years of experience designing and developing infrastructure or distributed systems. 1 year of experience leveraging AI tools or frameworks to accelerate development and engineering productivity. Experience designing and developing relational databases, database internals, information retrieval, query planning and execution.
