Description

Write product or system development code. Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.

Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).

Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.

Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.

We're looking for a software engineer with an interest in security, boot stacks, RoTs, cryptographic protocols, operating system, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and in running services at a Google scale.

The role will involve building core platforms and global services for protecting, distributing and managing certificates, keys and other assets throughout Google's entire cloud, and performing boot time and runtime attestations, leveraging hardware innovations like Google's Titan chip.

We build the technology that keeps both Google Cloud and Google's Production environment along with customer data secure and protected from various attacks, protecting the data and workloads of Google and customers through confidentiality, integrity, and availability properties anchored in trustworthy hardware.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

2 years of experience designing, implementing and operating infrastructure or distributed systems. 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (C, C++, Rust). Experience with Cloud Security services and infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.

Experience with Linux Kernel, Operating Systems, Embedded Systems. Experience building and operating large-scale cloud services.

Experience with Cryptography, Hardware Security concepts (Secure Boot, TEEs, Root of Trust) and interacting with security hardware such as TPMs and HSMs.

Extended Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

2 years of experience designing, implementing and operating infrastructure or distributed systems. 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (C, C++, Rust). Experience with Cloud Security services and infrastructure.
