Description

Implement components to support a large-scale continuous query engine. Implement tests and experiments to evaluate and monitor the performance of the system. Use the full battery of tools and instrumentation to develop, test, and rollout features. Coordinate with product engineers in all parts of the software stack. Debug and solve customer issues/respond to customer feedback.

BigQuery is a multi-tenant cloud-based data warehouse storing exabytes of user data. Users ingest data into BigQuery's managed storage where we enable them to perform cost-effective large-scale analysis of their data. BigQuery powers a number of major Google Cloud Platform (GCP) customer workflows and continues to be one of the most successful products in GCP.

Our team is working on a long-term innovative effort to support continuous query processing natively in BigQuery. This will enable our users to run complex streaming scenarios ingesting/exporting real time data from/to Pub-Sub/Kafka/Bigtable for dashboarding, online monitoring, real-time ML inferencing. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

2 years of experience with software development (e.g. C++), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting. 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.

Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.

Experience with one or more of the following: database internals, streaming analytics, streaming, SQL, storage systems.

Extended Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

2 years of experience with software development (e.g. C++), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree in an industry setting. 2 years of experience with developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage or hardware architecture.
