Description
Adapt, build, and launch first-party apps/experiences for Android phones paired with next-generation wearables.Ensure XR support Android iOS feels native and idiomatic to the platform, leveraging modern Kotlin development and the best of the Glasses SDK (Software Development Kit).
Work closely with UX and Program Manager (PM) to define, prototype, and test experiences to discover what experiences users value the most and how to improve the experiences to provide more value to users.
Collaborate with other Google teams (Google Translate, etc.) to build features that leverage the best of Google products and services.
Debug and optimize translation quality across the stack from the AudioRecord layer up to the Large Language Models (LLMs) translation model.

The AR Glasses team is building glasses that provide all-day helpfulness in use cases like translation, navigation, photography and AI assistance. We are responsible for several key features including translation, the media player, and the phone call experience on glasses. Our team mission is to empower users with delightful glasses experiences that amplify the power of speech and sound.
In this role, you will develop applications for a novel computing platform, AR glasses. These apps bring the best of Google to users in a new form factor with new capabilities (first-person perspective, line-of-sight UX, ambient sensing).
This is an amazing opportunity to work on a consumer-facing product in an entirely new device category. You'll be working with futuristic yet stylish hardware while developing some of these user-centric features.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience programming in the Kotlin programming language. 1 year of experience in Android development.Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields. 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting. 2 years of experience developing Android applications, programming in Java/Kotlin. Experience in one of the following: iOS development, Bluetooth, or development for Wearables.
Extended Qualifications
