Description
Set the goal for our robotics stack-guiding architecture, systems design, and integration. Collaborate closely with executive leadership to align on Robotics initiatives and roadmap, engineering execution with business goals. Build and lead high-performing engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, embedded, and software disciplines within Robotics engineering. Lead hardware architecture reviews with software and system teams to identify and address potential gaps in the technical design, ensuring the overall solution performance and scalability. Lead and participate in design reviews to address technical issues during the development, document design decisions, specifications, test procedures, and results, maintaining clear and organized records to facilitate knowledge sharing and project continuity. Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams and external partners including solution vendors and contract manufacturers throughout the development lifecycle, addressing inquiries and resolving issues as they arise.Be part of a team that pushes boundaries, developing custom silicon solutions that power the future of Google's direct-to-consumer products. Google is seeking a Robotics automation Hardware Lead, to join our Physical infrastructure Robotics team. This team is dedicated to implementing robotics technologies and solutions to transform operations inside our data centers. In this role, you will lead across multiple robotics engineering disciplines to develop industry-leading solutions to enable next generation data center operations. You will also collaborate closely with hardware, software and system engineers to ensure seamless product integration, and integration of the solutions into our infrastructure operations.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$258,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.8 years of experience in mechatronics engineering and robotics product development and in shipping full-stack robotics systems. Experience in robotic control, planning, kinematics, and mechatronic systems. Experience in the robotics industry, robotics applications development and in turning research and development into deployed, real world systems.
Preferred qualifications: 8 years of experience for developing robotics products, including identifying issues and considerations for delivering a robotics product. Experience with sensor integration and calibration for robotics applications, including vision systems, LiDAR, and inertial measurement units (IMUs). Experience with embedded systems Real-Time Operating System (RTOS), microcontrollers, Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), sensor fusion, and actuator control. Experience in project management or leadership roles, leading cross-functional teams and driving projects to successful completion. Experience with collaborative robot (cobot) systems and human-robot interaction design considerations. Familiarity with motion control systems and robotics programming languages such as ROS (Robot Operating System) or similar.
