Description
Own the relationship with competition hosts, from problem scoping to contracting to overseeing competition launch and close. Collaborate with internal Developer Relations Engineers to ensure competitions meet design requirements and satisfy broader objectives for the team. Support Kaggle's product and engineering teams by analyzing usage trends and building reports and dashboards to communicate findings. Build relationships with critical first and third party partners and nurture a network of competition hosts and collaborators. Serve as a technical, financial, legal and marketing liaison between competition hosts, sponsors, and participants.A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
Kaggle is the world’s largest data science and machine learning community. Our six million registered users visit Kaggle to learn, find data, engage, and collaborate on machine learning. Competitions were Kaggle’s first product and remain core to its community, mission, and Google Cloud Platform’s (GCP) promotional goals. We work with companies of all sizes, non-profits, and researchers on problems ranging from medical imaging, financial modeling, to identifying bird calls. Customers bring us issues and datasets, while our users engage to solve these issues, seeking prize money, insight, or professional notoriety.
As a Program Manager, AI/ML, you will work with customers from both the commercial and research worlds to help plan their competitions and address a range of issues, from problem identification to contracting and managing the live competition. You will also build tools to help automate this process. You will play a pivotal role in Kaggle's value in the data science world, and develop direct experience with our sponsors' use cases as you prepare competitions for some of the world’s best data scientists.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $126,000-$181,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 2 years of experience in program or project management. Experience managing partners, third parties, or vendors in the AI/ML or Data Science space. Experience establishing commercial terms and agreements.Preferred qualifications: 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. Ability to work in a complex environment, collaborate, and communicate across a range of people and job functions. Ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent investigative and problem solving skills with the ability to organize and analyze data.
