Description
Identify, structure, and execute opportunities for partnerships, off-take, and strategic investment in advanced clean technologies that advance sustainability goals and address data center energy needs, partnering collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders. Build a pipeline of opportunities by maintaining an up-to-date understanding of and relationships with technology providers and developers in select advanced technology categories. Support the development of Google’s strategy for advanced clean technologies based on analysis of technology maturity, market conditions, policy and regulations, and other factors impacting the scale-up and deployment of these technologies. Drive the development of Google’s cross-functional programs supporting advanced clean technology deployment.A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.
In this role, you will identify and architect commercial, investment, and other partnership opportunities for Google to accelerate the commercialization of advanced clean energy technologies.
The Google Climate Operations team is responsible for ensuring Google achieves 24/7 Carbon-Free Energy and Net Zero emissions for our global operations and value chain by 2030. The team works cross-functionally across our global operations and hardware supply chains to develop and scale new solutions on energy and carbon. It also leads efforts to create the external market environments necessary to drive decarbonization in a way that facilitates these goals and enables others to do so as well.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$258,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.8 years of experience in program or project management.
Experience with structuring partnerships, investments, or commercial agreements in clean energy or similar sectors.
Preferred qualifications: 8 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
Experience with investments in energy and climate technologies or in infrastructure investing and project finance. Knowledge of energy markets, utilities, and associated policy and regulatory environments. Knowledge of advanced clean energy technologies, such as next generation geothermal, advanced nuclear, long duration energy storage, Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS), and grid technologies. Ability to align interests across multiple stakeholder groups to achieve impact, and shape and drive programs in ambiguous environments.
