Description

Define the long-term trust and safety strategy for Trust and Safety Ads Personalization. Translate complex ambiguity into clear operational goals. Act as the primary safety partner to Product and Engineering leadership. Advocate for holistic principles during the product development lifecycle. Lead the response to critical escalations. Interface with Legal, PR, and Sales leadership to manage risk and communicate enforcement decisions clearly. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Analysts. Foster a culture that prioritizes well-being and professional growth. Oversee global enforcement operations, ensuring high precision and recall. Drive efficiency improvements through automation and process re-engineering. Utilize data analytics to identify emerging abuse trends. Lead the development of new signals and machine learning models to detect bad actors. Work with sensitive content or situations, with possible exposure to graphic, controversial, or upsetting topics or content.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensuring the highest levels of user safety.

As a Manager in Trust and Safety for Ads, you are the guardian of the Google Ads ecosystem. You will lead a team dedicated to protecting users, advertisers, and publishers from abuse, fraud, and policy violations. In this role, you won't just enforce policies—you will shape them. You will partner deeply with Engineering and Product Management to design scalable defenses, influence the product roadmap to prioritize safety, and navigate complex, high-visibility escalations with executive stakeholders.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000-$237,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

10 years of experience in data analytics, trust and safety, policy, cybersecurity, business strategy, or related fields. 1 year of experience in people management, leading a team.

Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field. Experience in SQL, building dashboards, data collection/transformation, visualization/dashboards, or experience in a scripting/programming language (e.g., Python). Experience working with engineering and product teams to create tools, solutions, or automation to improve user safety.

Experience working closely with policy teams.

Experience with machine learning. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and the ability to influence cross-functionally at various levels.

Extended Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

10 years of experience in data analytics, trust and safety, policy, cybersecurity, business strategy, or related fields. 1 year of experience in people management, leading a team.
