Description

Lead end-to-end research to enhance hiring and other employee lifecycle programs, processes, and products, focusing on effectiveness, efficiency, and user experience. Develop and maintain skills assessments, applying statistical analysis and research methodologies to understand trends and evaluate program impact. Partner with stakeholders to prioritize projects and deliver actionable insights through executive-ready presentations, data visualizations, and reports. Analyze large datasets using SQL and R, deriving meaningful insights to inform process design and assess program outcomes across the employee lifecycle. Stay current on research and hiring trends, innovating to meet user needs and ensure data-driven decision-making.

The team provides critical support to the business around issues of organizational health and is responsible for not just taking the pulse of our Googlers, but harnessing Googler feedback to drive change for the better. As an analyst you'll be detail-oriented and conscientious, analytical and curious. You're a strong problem-solver, who uses both quantitative and qualitative methods to get things done. And on top of it all, you're someone who wonders "What if?" and then seeks out the solution.

As a Hiring & Onboarding People Analyst, you are a highly detail-oriented, reliable, skilled, and curious researcher who shapes Google’s approach to hiring and onboarding. You evaluate process effectiveness, efficiency, and user experience, with a special focus on developing, launching, and maintaining skills assessments. You use SQL and R to analyze data across the employee lifecycle- from pre-hire applicant characteristics to employee tenure. Your insights inform process design and assess program impact. Your analytical skill, clear communication, and creativity ensure decision-makers leverage data to seek the truth, prioritize the user’s perspective, and evolve with changing conditions.Great just isn't good enough for our People Operations team (known elsewhere as "Human Resources"). The US base salary range for this full-time position is $117,000-$168,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 5 years of experience working with multiple data sources, combining information to generate insights from analyses, and creating reporting solutions for an executive audience (e.g., dashboards, tables, templates, metrics). Experience coding in R or SQL, or another coding language.

Preferred qualifications: Master's degree or PhD in I/O Psychology, Organizational Behavior, or a related field. 3 years of experience with people analytics, social science analytics, or applied business analytics. 3 years of applied experience conducting hiring research (selection and assessment), including psychometric methods and fundamental social science statistical methods (e.g., ANOVAs, regressions, factor analysis, network analysis, HLM, or SEM). Experience designing new skills assessments, running validity studies (content, criterion, and construct), managing existing assessments, and examining historical hiring trends using archival data. Advanced SQL and R skills.

Extended Qualifications
