Description
Drive new capabilities for the VM instances in cloud including intercepting new technologies, road-map planning, business forecasting, ecosystem and customer adoption.Develop the product strategy for the VM Instance, including the associated business outcomes and presenting to the leadership inside GCP. Work across hardware, software, research and product teams for long term product goals. Understand the engaging dynamics and industry trends for workloads and hardware.
Provide data-driven insights to prioritize engineering initiatives and maximize return on investment.
Drive new capabilities in the foundational Compute Infrastructure layer (Hypervisor and Virtualization Stack) and delivering innovation for Google Cloud.

In this role, you will work with the customers to define new products/services and build road-maps that raise the bar on performance, efficiency, flexibility and scalability. You will innovate from the hardware infrastructure level up to the virtual machine (VM) to develop a strategy and deliver new products/services for Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will define products that encompass both the software and hardware components of our Compute VMs that power Google’s Cloud.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000-$305,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
Experience developing or launching infrastructure products or technologies within networking, storage, compute hardware, databases, file systems, data analytics, cluster management, and other software infrastructure areas.
Preferred qualifications: Experience in one or more of the following: compute architecture, data center infrastructure, CPU (x86/Arm) and I/O technologies, Cloud Infrastructure, Storage/SSD.
Experience bringing innovative, industry-leading, category-defining tech products to market.
Understanding of different workload requirements (emerging and existing) and their demands on the underlying infrastructure.
Understanding of the operational aspects of Cloud Servers.
Ability to chart out workload needs for adjacent Technical Account Manager (TAM) pools, requiring Google Compute Engine (GCE) compute innovation.
Extended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.10 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
5 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
Experience developing or launching infrastructure products or technologies within networking, storage, compute hardware, databases, file systems, data analytics, cluster management, and other software infrastructure areas.
