Description
Serve as the lead advisor to Cloud leadership on AI and "Classic" compute capital allocation, developing frameworks that balance immediate business maximization with long-term strategic projects. Resolve regional misalignments where demand exceeds available capacity and vice versa. Build and scale unified planning mechanisms to bridge fragmented teams and create a "Plan of Record" used by the C-suite to ensure operational execution aligns with financial commitments. Lead Net Present Value (NPV)-based "Retire vs. Reuse" frameworks to optimize the fleet and develop models that evaluate options for mitigating near-term power and space constraints. Author high-stakes narratives for executive leadership and the Board of Directors, including monthly budget updates, annual Capital Expenditure (CapEx) investment documents, and long-term infrastructure strategy.Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Excellent at working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to address big picture challenges.
You are both a manager and a mentor, providing financial leadership and analytical support to partners of the core Finance team as well as giving your own team the support they need to become financial experts. You'll keep management informed on key financial metrics and work to improve financial operation practices throughout your region.
As a Senior Finance Manager for Cloud Product Finance, you will lead the financial strategy and capacity planning mechanisms that drive Google Cloud’s infrastructure investments. Serving as a primary bridge between Finance, Demand Planning, and Engineering, you will align planning across traditional compute capacity and AI/GPU acceleration. You will also partner cross-functionally to integrate near-term power signals into the overarching product strategy.
In this role, you will lead a high-performing team with end-to-end ownership of demand forecasts for multi-billion-dollar infrastructure lifecycles. Your work will directly influence capital allocation, asset payback economics, ROIC, and free cash flow—shaping the "plan of record" used by Cloud leadership to steer the business.
The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.
