Description
Own the strategy, scoping, and long-term technical goal for sharing infrastructure, ensuring architectural decisions align with organizational priorities. Clarify, make tractable, and drive complex, ambiguous technical roadmaps. Lead Engineering teams in designing and optimizing scalable sharing infrastructure and UI primitives to drive ecosystem growth for Gemini and other strategic Google products. Serve as the primary engineering lead, exhibiting leadership and influencing designs across multiple groups, partnering closely with product management, UX, and data science to bridge system architecture with product strategy. Support the team to strategically leverage AI/ML tools to enhance team creativity, collaboration, and engineering velocity. Hire, coach, and mentor a high-performing Engineering team, fostering career development and a culture of technical excellence.Like Google's own ambitions, the work of a Software Engineer goes beyond just Search. Software Engineering Managers have not only the technical expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to major projects, but also manage a team of Engineers. You not only optimize your own code but make sure Engineers are able to optimize theirs. As a Software Engineering Manager you manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $207,000-$300,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in JavaScript, web applications, and front-end development.8 years of experience in people management.
Preferred qualifications: Experience in Android development, iOS development, C++, server platform, testing, data analysis, architecture, and strategic thinking.
