Description
Rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading AI-focused user experiences -- from concept to execution. Manage and mentor a team of 5 designers. Collaborate with product, engineering, and research partners to explore and evaluate concepts, support implementation, and independently move projects forward, focusing on impact across the entire Workspace portfolio. Influence AI product direction and establish a foundational platform for embedding AI across all Workspace offerings.Google Workspace is seeking an ambitious UX Director to lead the Workspace AI Foundations team. This leader has strong product, visual, and leadership sensibilities and is interested in helping us define the future of AI at work.
This role will have an untamed curiosity and interest in bringing new experiences to life with AI. You will be working alongside, influencing, and inspiring a team of designers, researchers, engineers, and product managers as you formulate a vision for AI integration into Workspace products. As the AI Foundations UX lead, you will direct the creation of a cohesive, modern experience across the Workspace product suite and report directly to the UX VP.

develop and grow talented members of your team, and fully enable your teams to create the best possible experiences across all of Google

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $267,000-$376,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Interaction or relevant industryexperience, or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of professional experience in product design and related roles. 10 years of experience in a senior role creating strategy and designing products.
Preferred qualifications: Experience working collaboratively with senior designers, and executives in product management and engineering. Experience elevating product craft. Experience developing agentic or multi-turn AI experiences. Understanding of AI and how to implement AI systems into existing portfolios of products. Strong communication skills with the ability to listen, articulate positions, and advocate designs. Track record of key contributions to innovative, successful products.
Extended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, Interaction or relevant industryexperience, or equivalent practical experience.
