Description
Review, draft and discuss a range of commercial agreements to support Google’s technical infrastructure procurement and operation, including agreements for network and capacity acquisition, data center operations, renewable energy and water procurement. Advise clients on agreements and transactions relating to semiconductor design, IP licensing and software licensing. Train clients on IP licensing and contract negotiation. Counsel clients and other cross-functional stakeholders on legal issues and risks, company policies and procedures, legal and business strategy, regulatory and compliance requirements, summarizing and communicating legal concepts that engineers and business people can use. Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements, client training and legal processes.In this role, you will be exposed to practically every department throughout Google as Technical Infrastructure builds the hardware and systems that power Google’s services and AI Infrastructure. You will be involved in the development and launch of Google’s AI infrastructure, including new semiconductor devices, platforms and products. As Commercial Counsel supporting Technical Infrastructure, you will work on the most exciting legal issues such as disruptive technological innovations that require creative and proactive legal guidance. You will work with engineers, product developers, business development and other legal team members to support new products, services and platform technology in a collegial, changing team environment.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $239,000-$337,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience. Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located. 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm. Experience with data center or network infrastructure.Preferred qualifications: Experience in drafting, managing and negotiating IP core license agreements, Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool licenses, services agreements, purchase agreements, license agreements and intellectual property transactions. Experience advising and managing clients in commercial Intellectual Property (IP) transactions. Knowledge and experience in multiple aspects of semiconductor design, manufacturing and supply chain. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline. Excellent communication skills.
Extended Qualifications
