Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Tool Engineer to join our team in Renton, WA.

A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out on the production floor, interacting with mechanics, safety, and tool makers, and directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity.

Primary Responsibilities:

Investigates and develops equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.Performs tool liaison activities to support tool fabrication and production useParticipates in design reviews, collects design requirements, creates and revises drawings and models to support the build plan.Creates specifications and purchase requests for the acquisition of new equipment and tooling from external vendorsChecks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.Develops and documents equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and supports user training development.Manages budgets and schedules to deliver equipment and tooling solutions to customers

This position is a Production Engineering role and requires direct interfacing with the people and equipment on the production floor. A typical day could include:

Spending up to 8 hours on feet standing/walking on the production floorClimbing ladders or stairs to access equipmentWorking at heights or in tight spacesWearing required PPE

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

Bachelor degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry (ABET is a preferred, although not required, accreditation standard)2 or more years’ related engineering work experience or a Masters of Science degree in an accredited STEM program

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

2 or more years of experience working in a production environment2 or more years of 3D modeling experience2 or more years of GD&T experience2 or more years of Project Management experience

Summary pay range for Associate (Level 2): $81,600 - $110,400Summary pay range for Mid-Level (Level 3): $96,050 - $129,950Summary pay range for Senior (Level 4): $118,150 - $159,850
