The Boeing Company is seeking a Test & Evaluation Lab Technician - Metrology & Calibration to join our team in Seattle, WA. In this role, you will be essential to our operations, focusing on the calibration of various Measurement and Test Equipment and the development of procedures for test equipment. Boeing's metrology parameters include precision dimensional and optical measurements, precision mass, temperature-humidity, pressure, flow, force, and Electronic - DC/LF, RF, and Microwave. You will encounter new and significant challenges daily, supporting military and commercial programs such as the 777, 777X, 737MAX, 787, P-8, KC-46, and more.

Metrology is the science of measurement, encompassing both theoretical and practical aspects. Metrology engineering involves understanding how measurement accuracy and precision affect our ability to achieve repeatable and reproducible measurements across Boeing, the significance of measurement traceability, and the role of calibration in establishing traceability, along with the quality systems that support these processes.

This position is primarily for the 1st shift; however, various shifts, including nights, weekends, and alternate shifts, may be required to meet program objectives.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate and Mid-Level Test & Evaluation Lab Technicians.

Position Responsibilities:

Designs systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements

Participates in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems

Supports the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities

Facilitates systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and post-test tear-down

Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results

Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems

Works under general supervision

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

1+ years of experience in an Electrical/Electronic laboratory test environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Level 3: 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

1+ years of experience with Electrical/Electronic - DC/LF or RF and Microwave Metrology process

3+ years of experience in Electrical/Electronic Metrology and/or measurement science

1+ years of experience in a PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) back shop for the military

Associate's degree

Experience in metrology and/or calibration/certification, and/or instrumentation

Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)

Familiarity with MATCAL, LabVIEW, C++, and Access

Experience in a calibration and/or testing laboratory

Experience using and configuring data acquisition units

Experience running and configuring automated hardware tests

Experience in the aerospace industry

Summary Pay Range for Associate level (Level 2): $51,000 – $69,000

Summary Pay Range for Mid-level (Level 3): $59,500 – $80,500
