Engineering Tracking and Control (ETAC) is a long-running, Boeing Commercial Airline’s (BCA) critical engineering and production execution system used across airplane programs to track and manage hundreds of thousands of events required for airplane build and delivery.
ETAC integrates with multiple upstream/downstream systems and relies on Global Attributes Database (GAD) for authoritative organizational and release attributes used to create and manage release events.
This role blends hands-on technical application ownership with disciplined product delivery execution, partnering closely with product leadership, technical leads, and delivery teams to refine demand, remove impediments, and drive predictable outcomes while maintaining platform stability.
Position Responsibilities:
Provide end-to-end application management and hands-on technical leadership for ETAC and integration touchpoints with GAD
Partner with product managers, technical leads, and development teams to refine demand and execute the product roadmap with disciplined delivery practices
Drive backlog readiness and delivery flow through intake, refinement, prioritization, trade-off decisions, and release planning aligned to business value and production risk
Lead operational stability work including incident triage, root-cause analysis, defect management, performance tuning, and usability improvements
Perform hands-on technical investigation and troubleshooting across SQL Server, Classic ASP, .NET, ASP.NET, and Microsoft ASP.NET Framework
Coordinate and govern impacts across ETAC upstream/downstream integrations and reporting/analytics consumers
Ensure data integrity, controlled access, and adherence to Boeing process and compliance expectations for mission-critical systems
Establish and improve operational practices including release readiness, runbooks, knowledge management, and repeatable triage patterns
Remove delivery impediments, coordinate cross-functional work, and improve predictability and quality of releases
Hold suppliers accountable to delivery, quality, and operational expectations through clear acceptance criteria, code/release readiness reviews, and performance tracking
Drive a sustainment and modernization roadmap to stabilize ETAC and position it for future business needs
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree or higher
5+ years of experience in multi-tiered application structure or highly integrated systems
5+ years of experience with leading Incident Response and/or Vulnerability Management activities
5+ years of experience managing product backlogs
5+ years of experience working with relational database management systems (Exadata, Oracle, Teradata, SQL Server)
Experience Coordinating Release Management of applications to production
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience using the Boeing Application Development & Sustaining (AD&S) process
Experience supporting or developing web applications using Classic Active Server Pages (ASP) and/or .NET / ASP.NET (Microsoft ASP.NET Framework)
Experience supporting reporting and analytics consumers, including data extract patterns and data-mart style usage
Experience improving operational excellence (monitoring/alerting expectations, incident playbooks, release readiness checklists, defect prevention)
Experience modernizing legacy platforms incrementally while maintaining high availability
Experience partnering effectively with geographically distributed teams and high-visibility business stakeholders
Experience coordinating work delivered by external vendors/suppliers in a product delivery and/or production support environment
