This position can be based in Hazelwood, MO; Arlington, VA; Everett, WA; Huntsville, AL; North Charleston, SC; Ridley Park, PA; Renton, WA; Mesa, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Jacksonville, FL or San Antonio, TX
This position will lead and operate a corporate Military SkillBridge initiative to recruit, onboard, and retain transitioning service members and military spouses. This role builds partnerships with military transition offices and veteran service organizations, oversees candidate pipelines, ensures compliance with SkillBridge program requirements, and develops training and mentorship pathways that align military skills with company workforce needs.
Position Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and lead the Military SkillBridge program end-to-end, including outreach, recruitment, selection, onboarding, placement, and post-placement follow-up
Establish and maintain relationships with Department of Defense (DoD) transition offices, military installation SkillBridge coordinators, veteran service organizations, military transition counselors, and local educational institutions
Coordinate with hiring managers and business units to identify internship/work-placement opportunities that map to organizational skill gaps and career pathways
Develop and maintain program materials: position descriptions, internship scopes, training plans, mentorship frameworks, and performance evaluation templates
Screen and assess candidates, manage application and interview workflows, and ensure placements meet SkillBridge eligibility and timing requirements
Ensure compliance with DoD SkillBridge policies, company Human Resources (HR) policies, and any security/clearance requirements; maintain documentation and records for audits
Create onboarding and orientation programs tailored to transitioning service members, including cultural integration, workplace expectations, and required certifications/training
Work with HR, Learning and Development, and hiring managers to create competency-based development plans and measure participant progress against milestones
Track program metrics (e.g., candidate pipeline, placement rate, conversion-to-hire, retention, time-to-productivity) and produce regular reports for leadership
Manage budget for program activities, travel for outreach, and any stipend-related coordination
Serve as an internal and external champion for veteran hiring initiatives; represent the company at military transition events, virtual career fairs, and community partnerships
Provide ongoing support to placed participants, facilitate mentorship match-ups, and coordinate feedback sessions with supervisors
Improve program processes based on participant and manager feedback, and industry best practices
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
1+ years of experience in a large enterprise or regulated industry (Aerospace, Defense, Manufacturing) and experience with security clearance application processes
3+ years of experience preparing and presenting to executives, senior leadership, and external customers
3+ years of experience with the DoD SkillBridge program and military transition timelines
5+ years of experience leading projects that crossed multiple functions, organizations or systems where competing priorities or objectives may have become a challenge
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field
Certification in program management (PMP, PgMP) or HR (PHR, SHRM-CP)
5+ years of experience recruiting talent
5+ years of experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
5+ years of experience using Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) tools
5+ years of experience in program management, recruiting, veteran outreach, or workforce development; experience with military transition programs
Experience building cross-functional relationships with HR, hiring managers, training teams, and external stakeholders
Military service and/or experience working directly with transitioning service members

Summary pay range: $92,650 – $157,000
