Boeing’s Space Mission Systems (SMS) Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) Capability is seeking an ExperiencedSystems Engineering Manager to provide day-to-day leadership for an organization performing advanced technology development, systems design, and analysis in Tukwila, WA. This manager will be responsible for setting the strategy, vision, and developing implementation plans to provide the people, processes, and tools for our Puget Sound area Systems Engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have a background in technology development as a technical lead and prior experience leading a highly skilled engineering workforce. This candidate will need to be an open and inclusive leader partnering with other Boeing business areas to include the Disruptive Computing and Networks (DC&N) organization, engineering capabilities, and program leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Systems Engineering.

Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures, and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives.

Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements.

Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.

Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.

Manages, develops, and motivates employees and first-level managers.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

5+ years of experience leading or managing an engineering project or team.

Product development experience.

Systems engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience across the entire lifecycle of system development.

Excellent communications skills, verbal and written.

Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management, customers, and partners.

Previous management experience.

Ability to build a safe environment of inclusion, transparency, and trust.

Previous experience in leading, mentoring, and engaging individuals and teams.

Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance.

Summary pay range: $166,600 - $225,400
