Find your future with us.Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Senior Safety and Airworthiness Specialist (Program Integration Manager) to support the team in Renton, WA.
Position Overview:
These roles play a vital role in fostering cross-functional engineering leadership for high-priority projects designated by program leadership. These projects are essential for advancing research and development, as well as addressing both ongoing and emerging business needs within our diverse airplane programs. PIMs (Program Integration Manager) are tasked with adapting to changes in the Statement of Work (SOW), evaluating their impact, and engaging in constructive negotiations to determine necessary modifications to deliverables, resources, costs, and schedules. They lead project execution by conducting technical studies, establishing performance metrics, and planning for the identification and coordination of required resources throughout the project lifecycle. Additionally, PIMs are responsible for developing comprehensive plans for risk mitigation and seizing opportunities. Typical projects encompass a wide range of areas, including but not limited to safety and quality enhancements, regulatory compliance, production stability and support, future product development, customer onboarding, and in-service fleet support. Position Responsibilities:
Lead a Team in performing technical trade studies, design requirements, overall development and project management.
Provide over-sight of continued development and maintenance of master operating plan and tie into integrated schedule.
Lead cross functional groups to resolve technical issues and document key decisions.
Ensure that coordination occurs across teams and between other airplane teams to ensure horizontal technical integration is accomplished.
Play key coordination role in bringing Trade Studies/Agile Team Decisions to closure.
Lead the team in successfully planning and conducting key technical reviews.
Coordinate successful compliance with Gated Management process.
Lead team in finalizing the baseline configuration and development of a customer options.
Identify and focal development of mitigation plans for potential design, build and validation problems.
Work as Product Owner, Team Member, or Consultant to ensure Systems Input/ Integration across the airplane & guiding teams.
Develop solutions that balance complex customer requests with Boeing strategies
Work Authorization:
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Renton, WA.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or closely related field, or 15 years of equivalent technical experience.
10+ years of experience collaborating with Senior level executives and/or project management and/or complex operations.
10+ years of experience in aviation industry.
5+ years of experience with regulatory, certifications, or standards within Aviation.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
ABET accredited bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
Commercial aircraft design and/or analysis experience within Airframe, Flight Sciences, Interiors, Propulsion or Systems Experience with certification, working with FAA regulations and Regulatory Administration.
Experience with commercial or military aircraft maintenance.
10+ years of experience with transport, Boeing and/or McDonnell Douglas Aircraft.
10+ years of experience performing complex engineering or system integration work.
10+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnering with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers and business partners.
10+ years of experience in leading and /or managing complex projects.
5+ years’ experience with U.S. and foreign aircraft certification/regulatory processes.
General Knowledge and understanding of the 737MAX development and certification process.
Commercial aircraft design and/or analysis within airframe, systems, avionics, cabin systems, propulsion or operations working with FAA regulations.
Experience with commercial aircraft maintenance.
Ability to quickly analyze, understand, organize and communicate complex technical concepts/problems across multiple disciplines.
Experience leading major design changes through multiple phases of product and certification lifecycle.
Ability to work out of comfort zone, where process definition does not exist or is not clear. Take ownership/initiative, pull teams together, establish battle rhythm and remove roadblocks.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 15 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+13 years' related work experience, 19 years' related work experience, etc.).
