The Boeing Company – Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking an Experienced Revenue Accountant in Tukwila, Washington.

As part of the Revenue Accounting group, you will support the monthly and quarterly accounting close cycles and collaborate with cross-functional leaders in achieving high-quality financial records and disclosures.

The Revenue Accounting team is responsible for ensuring accurate recording of commercial airplane programs revenue, costs of sales, and backlog through the monthly and quarterly close process. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to: engine accounting, industrial participation, accounting for rebate programs, and preparation of government reports. The team works closely with contracts, revenue management, cash management, and other accounting teams. This position will focus primarily on contract analysis and engine support.

The successful candidate will have experience in either public accounting or industry, preferably with an Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registrant, and appreciates the complexities associated with rigorous closing timelines and milestones and strong technical financial acumen, including researching complex transactions.

Position Responsibilities:

Prepare journal entries, supporting schedules, financial analyses and reconciliations primarily related to commercial airplanes program revenue, engines, and cost of sales

Analyze and review contracts, delivery invoices, and credit memos for appropriate accounting treatment and revenue recognition

Prepare commercial airplanes backlog

Ensure timely completion of closing requirements to meet reporting deadlines

Support internal and external auditors

Lead and/or assist in process improvement initiatives and various ad hoc projects

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or a related field

3+ years of experience in Finance or Accounting

Experience with an SEC registered firm/or public accounting firm

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

5+ years of finance or accounting experience

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)

Strong understanding of accounting w/ emphasis on revenue accounting standards

Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and deadlines, with attention to detail

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Comfortable with ambiguous, complex projects

Microsoft Excel proficiency

Experience with Peoplesoft, Cognos

Summary pay range: $87,550 - $118,450
