The Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Flight Controls team is seeking a Primary Control Law and Autoflight Manager to lead the engineering team located in Everett, WA.

Position Overview:

In this leadership position, you will apply your technical expertise and commitment to quality to guide a team of flight control engineers in developing and supporting the Primary Control Laws and Autoflight Systems for Boeing Commercial aircraft. As a vital member of the management team, you will help shape the strategic direction for current programs and future technology initiatives within the BCA Autoflight and Primary Control Laws organization.

Position Responsibilities:

Lead the development of plans and execution of Flight Controls statement of work to meet BCA airplane program priorities

Lead by positive example and support the career growth and skill development of the Flight Controls Autoflight and Primary Control Law engineers

Ensure a team is in place that cultivates a continuous creative and multidisciplinary approach to problem solving with respect to responding to and performing the work related to program needs

Routinely engage with program leaders, managers and members in the Flight Controls team to work assignment needs, technical work updates, roadblocks and challenges, lessons learned and historical perspectives

Oversight of technical decision-making and engineering quality

Lead towards timely resolution of time-sensitive Continued Operational Safety Program (COSPs) and Boeing Problem Solving Method (BPSM)

Direct coordination with Supplier and/or Customer

Performance management and mentorship of an engineering team

Cross-functional coordination with other organizations such as Avionics, Crew Ops, Airplane Safety, Aero, System Stress, Production Engineering, and Supply Chain

Work Authorization:

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett, WA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.

3+ years experience in the aerospace industry

Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working development and sustaining programs

Experience with Boeing Safety Management System, COSP, BPSM processes

Experience working with system engineering principles

Experience working directly with Boeing suppliers and customers

Experience leading and mentoring large engineering teams

Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills

Commitment to first-time quality with strong accountability for issue resolution

Ability to plan tasks, manage schedules, and lead effectively in a dynamic environment

Summary Pay Range:

$151,000 - $204,000
