Insitu has a need immediate need for a Payroll Specialist 1. This role will be supporting the payroll team and will be responsible for:
Assist in preparing routine company payroll, reviewing, and validating timesheets and routine employee status changes; assist in reconciling discrepancies.Assist in auditing, reconciling, and resolving straightforward payroll processing and prepares responses to routine employee payroll inquiries.Assist in the coordinating with system programmers to reconcile company payroll system issues. Assists in preparing responses to external auditing and regulatory inquiries.May assist in the manual calculation of wages and post wage data for temporary work, bonuses, vacations, terminations, and special payroll requirements.Assist in verifying payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state and IRS regulations.Mark records for retention.
Education & Experience:
0-2 years with Bachelor's degree or comparable combination of education and experience.Knowledge of how to implement/maintain/document effective internal controls and processes to ensure system integrity and compliance with accounting system requirements and company internal control guidelines and requirements.Ability to identify and resolve accounting system issues.Ability to support internal/external auditors and provide assistance regarding implementation and problem resolution.Ability to support development and deployment of accounting systems and tools.Knowledge of tax laws and codes.
This position is 100% remote. Candidates must have a reliable internet connection to work remote. If you are local to Bingen, WA the ability to work onsite is available.
