Boeing’s Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) and Measurement Systems team is seeking an Associate and Mid-Level Measurement Engineers to join our team in Tukwila, Washington.
The Puget Sound NDE and Measurement Systems is an Engineering Team responsible for supporting design, development, production programs, and In-Service. The team provides certification and qualification services across the value stream for NDE and Measurement. The team works on commercial and defense aircraft like: 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, 787, KC-46, B1B, and P-8 as well as development programs such as SLS, CST-100, 777X, and MQ-25. The team also conducts research and development with internal stakeholders and external customers. This team spans the entire product life cycle from research and development to active airframe support.
This team supports diverse non-destructive evaluation and measurement technology applications for commercial and defense products produced or supported by the Boeing Company. There is an opportunity to experience different business unit needs and support a diverse selection of commercial and defense aircraft in different phases of their production lifecycle. By working on this team an individual is able to impact programs across the enterprise and have an opportunity to grow a broad network across all of Boeing.
The successful candidate will have a strong desire to work with technical and non-technical audiences, and be a self-starter. There must be a desire to do non-destructive evaluation work and have a general base of NDE knowledge and/or experience. In addition, understanding of basic analysis techniques to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts or processes will be required. Experience in writing NDE inspection procedures is strongly valued.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops NDE procedures in support of airline customer maintenance inspectionsDesigns NDE reference standards in support of inspection proceduresDevelops engineering specifications and other documents to meet customer needsAssists in evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to business needsAssists with development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes to meet requirementsPerforms routine tests and audits to qualify suppliers to applicable requirementsAssists in implementing corrective and preventive actionsUses project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirementsIncorporates environmental health and safety, LEAN and Quality principles into (1) materials and processes, (2) research, design and qualification, (3) work procedures and (4) labs and office areas
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry1+ years of engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with CAD systems such as CATIA, SolidworksExperience with NDI systems: ultrasonics, eddy currentExperience in aviation and/or aerospaceExperience working in multidisciplinary teamsExcellent communication skillsExcellent skills with various computing systemsExcellent documentation and technical writing skillsExcellent time management skills to manage several simultaneous projects effectively and across various geographical locationsKnowledge of materials science with metals and/or composites

Summary pay range for Associate-Level (level 2): $94,350 - $127,650
Summary pay range for Mid-Level (level 3): $114,750 - $155,250
