Boeing Commercial Airlines is excited to offer opportunities for a Motive Equipment Operator to join our Facilities team in Everett Washington.

As a Motive Equipment Operator, you will play a vital role in our dynamic aviation environment, where precision and safety are paramount. To support our manufacturing and logistics operations, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of specialized vehicles and equipment, including forklifts, industrial trucks, and mobile cranes. This position requires operators to possess a valid state driver's license. It involves tasks such as loading and unloading aircraft components, securing oversized cargo, and ensuring compliance with stringent safety standards unique to the aviation industry. Position Responsibilities

Receive assignments from the transportation dispatcher via radio for efficient task management.

Manually pick, sort, load, and unload small packages up to ten feet long and weighing up to thirty-five pounds onto trucks, trailers, or dollies.

Secure loads using tarps, covers, slings, cables, and ropes to ensure safe transportation.

Operate small cargo trucks to deliver packages throughout the site and load/unload aircraft using cargo loaders as required.

Utilize mobile boom-type cranes to move, position, and align parts and equipment, ensuring safe operations by guiding movements with visible or audible signals.

Use straddle carriers to off-load oversized cargo containers from rail cars and operate Trackmobile to move rail cars transporting aircraft sections or other freight.

Operate tractors for various tasks, including towing and positioning airplanes, running shuttle routes for materials, and moving aircraft components with tow bars and wheel chocks.

Calculate safe load requirements and workload limits for equipment, including mobile boom-type cranes and forklifts, to ensure safe lifting operations.

Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from vehicles, manage factory shuttles, and transport equipment such as scaffolds and generators.

Perform routine mechanical inspections of vehicles and equipment, checking fuel, oil, and water levels, and refueling as necessary.

Lead and assist other operators in the movement of airplanes and scaffolds, providing instruction as needed.

Maintain records and logs, including weekly trip logs, metrics collection forms, and inspection forms, as required.

Inspect vehicles for physical damage and report any issues to maintain safe working conditions.

Guide the movements of mobile boom-type cranes and airplane tow tractors, ensuring safety during operations.

Monitor airplanes stored on outside ramps for security, ensuring tie-down ropes are secure, cowlings are intact, windows are closed, and controls are locked.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.

Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.

Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.

Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.

Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
