Boeing Research and Technology is seeking Manufacturing Systems and Simulation MP&P Engineer - Predictive Shimming for the Materials and Manufacturing Technology (MMT) Advanced Production Systems (APS) team in Everett, Washington.

Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including associate and mid-level engineers.

Position responsibilities:

Learn the 777X CWA HBL assembly process and predictive shimming process, including inputs, outputs and how inputs drive/effect outputs

Shadow SMEs, learn challenges and associated fixes in data processing

Process and manipulate 3D point cloud data for HBL shim generation to support 777X production demands

Current process utilizes a semi-automated pipeline with manual checks and interventions required

Evaluate data processing automation outputs, adjust inputs/parameters and iterate as necessary until output is satisfactory for production usage

Process data, remove/mitigate anomalies from the data set, patch in quality data when data is missing/erroneous

Review data for integrity and completeness

Convert raw data into consumable formats

Generate and submit high-priority shims for timely shop delivery

Develop and debug data processing pipeline and underlying software as needed for shop support

Support production hours including 2nd/ 3rd shifts and weekends

Spearhead process improvements in the time between production runs

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

2+ years of industry in aerospace or large scale manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience and interest in full stack development

Experience with 3D modeling and/or metrology analysis software

Experience and interest in computer science, scripting and or coding (Python, C#, C++, etc.)

Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, and basic file structures

Ability to work odd hours/flex time as needed to support production.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for associate (level 2): $82,450 - $111,550

Summary pay range for associate (level 3): $102,000 - $138,000
