Boeing Defense, Space & Security is hiring a Manufacturing Planner – Configuration Management to be part of the P-8 Poseidon program in Tukwila, WA. This position is part of Production Engineering and supports factory and flight line operations.

As a Manufacturing Planner for Configuration Management, you will solve technical issues, learn the process from design to installation on aircraft, and identify process improvements and risks. This position performs production engineering related work for military aircraft.

A successful candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, able to manage multiple priorities, experienced with large datasets, and work with a cross-functional team including engineering, quality, product support, supplier management, and program management. This position involves significant data analysis, data management, and documentation as it pertains to aircraft configuration.

Position Responsibilities

Validate As-Designed, As-Planned, and As-Built configurations

Review engineering modules for planning, parts, and procurement requirements

Investigate and reconcile deviations in Bill of Materials, Drawing Incorporations, and Planned Events

Provide weekly aircraft configuration status for review by the Configuration Team

Assist in software development, testing and integration as related to Configuration Verification

Verify component consumption accuracy through completed orders and plan masters

Track delivery shortages for configuration team and assess impacts to aircraft build and delivery timeline

Generate Critical Safety Item (CSI) reports to the Systems Safety team prior to delivery

Provide the final Module Closure summary Report (MCSR) for every aircraft delivery

Assists with development and integration of processes, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements.

Assists in providing input to design, manufacturing processes and manufacturing technologies to meet cost and schedules.

Develops work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments. Assists in the review, maintenance and monitoring of internal documents.

Works generally independent with minor supervision

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

Associate’s Degree or higher, a Technical certificate or degree, or 3 or more years of equivalent technical manufacturing planning experience.

3+ years’ experience using MESci or other Manufacturing Execution Systems

5+ years’ experience working in or supporting a manufacturing environment.

Detail-oriented and highly organized, able to investigate and manage large datasets

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Willingness to work overtime as needed to support production

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Experience in Configuration Management

Experience supporting program-level aircraft production

Experience with MESci, InSync, Compass, REDARS, and Microsoft Office Suite

This position is 100% Onsite

Typical Education/Experience

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).
