Boeing Commercial Airlines has an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Machinist to join our team in Puget Sound region in Washington State!

Maintenance Machinist’s will operate as a general journeyman machinist assisting in the maintenance process of all plant equipment. Working with lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses. Evaluating and planning complete machine processes to facilitate the manufacturing and repair of all machined parts.

Position Responsibilities:

Support the equipment maintenance team with evaluating, planning, and designing machine parts.

Use mathematics including practical math, algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

Reverse engineering of replacement equipment parts

Working with lathes, mills, grinders, and drill processes

Reading and understanding blueprints as well as Engineering illustrations (PI), Work Instruction (W/I), Shop Order Instance, (SOI), engineering, machine drawings.

Reading micrometers, setting up a sine plate, planning a job from scratch and understanding of all types of machining materials.

Use online computer systems (e.g., Inventor, Mastercam) to obtain engineering drawings, specifications/documents, as required.

Layout/check work, to calculate dimensions, as required. Utilize measuring equipment needed to perform work, as required.

Maintain tolerances (e.g., (.0002) two ten thousandths) on machined and ground parts to ensure accuracy in machine operations, as required.

Operate overhead crane and perform rigging to move parts safely into position for machining or installation, as required. Operate or become certified to operate a forklift.

Work with and interpret charts, tables, blueprints, handbook formulas, sketches, verbal orders, job layouts, etc

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

1+ years’ experience with Metallurgy.

3+ years’ experience with teardowns, reverse engineering, or reuse methodologies

3+ years’ experience operating manual mills and manual lathe machines.

3+ years’ experience with machine shop processes, geometric dimensioning & tolerances, and machining capabilities of different types of materials

3+ years’ experience in machine parts fabrication

3+ years’ experience with metals fabrication and machining

Ability to work any shift.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

5+ years’ experience with manual machining

Have experience grinding within +/- .0002 (two ten thousandths).

Trak Conversational Programming

Ability to program mills and lathes using Mastercam is a plus.

Typical Education & Experience:

High school graduate or GED preferred.
