Boeing Commercial Airlines is excited to offer opportunities for a Maintenance Machinist to join our Equipment Services team in in various locations across Washington State.

As a Maintenance Machinist, you will be at the heart of our operations, where your expertise will drive the precision and reliability of our machinery. Position Responsibilities:

Obtain work orders from various sources, including maintenance service systems, tooling, and engineering, as well as unscheduled emergent work brought directly into the shop.Independently create solutions to facilitate machine fabrication processes and provide written or verbal information to crafts and engineering teams.Operate all conventional and CNC machines to fabricate parts, such as gears, spindles, and shafts, to precise specifications and tolerances.Evaluate materials to be machined, considering the type of machine, feeds and speeds, and cutters when planning work.Visualize the complete machining process, including machine capabilities and heat treatment, to coordinate effective planning.Utilize online computer systems, such as Inventor and Mastercam, to obtain tooling and engineering drawings and specifications.Layout and check work using shop math, including geometry and trigonometry, to calculate dimensions and ensure accuracy.Maintain tight tolerance on machined and ground parts, ensuring accuracy in machine operations.Operate overhead cranes and power industrial trucks, performing rigging to safely move parts into position for machining or installation.Provide written and verbal updates on producibility and status to customers, including planning, engineering, and facilities.Design tooling and precision setups for portable machining, creating holding devices for machine operations as required.Perform machine work on location, including bearing housings and spindles, to support machine maintenance and operations.Conduct bench work, such as drilling, tapping, honing, lapping, and deburring, to finish machine parts prior to release.Use precision measuring tools, such as height gauges, calipers, and micrometers, to check machined parts for accuracy.Resolve problems through inter-organizational coordination with planning, engineering, production, and tooling to find effective solutions.Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in an approved manner, following safety regulations.Maintain personal and tool certifications to ensure compliance with industry standards.Lay out reference lines and points on raw stock and castings to create new or replacement parts using precision measuring instruments.Work from sketches, drawings, and specifications, as well as measurements taken from broken or worn parts.Select and secure the proper equipment, tools, and fixtures to efficiently accomplish work assignments.Detect faulty tools and take corrective action to ensure safe and effective operations.Breakdown and sequence work assignments to ensure proper machining and assembly operations.Devise, improvise, and fabricate facilities equipment to accomplish work as needed.Grind own tools to maintain their effectiveness and precision.Create precision checking fixtures to ensure the accuracy of machined parts.Conduct operational checks on rebuilt or modified machines to assess performance, capacity, and accuracy.Perform metalizing operations on machine parts as required.

Physical Demands and Potential Hazards:

Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs to 15-35 lbs.Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
