Several integration teams within Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) are seeking Lead or Senior Project Engineers (internally known as Program Integration Managers, PIMs) to join our team and make an immediate impact on urgent and long-term development, production, and fleet support issues within the Puget Sound region of Washington.

This is a high visibility role with technical assignments that directly support the BCA Program’s top-level goals, initiatives, and challenges. The project engineer will be responsible for one or more projects and will provide technical, business and integration leadership for the Program on technical issues requiring cross-functional and cross-organization leadership. You should be willing to take on projects that you may not have a full technical understanding of and stretch beyond your experience base. You will have opportunities to lead and collaborate with people from all over the world, to create and deliver innovative solutions to complex technical problems, while maintaining compliance with US and Foreign regulations.

Position Responsibilities:

Be an integral part of supporting BCA models in-service, in-production and under development, supporting programs such as 777, 777X, 787, core and the next generation of commercial airplanesLead special projects and initiatives in the areas of safety, certification, and performance as well as program issues as directed by the Program Chief Program Engineer and Director of EngineeringCommercial aircraft design and/or analysis experience within Airframe, Flight Sciences, Interiors, Propulsion or Systems Experience with certification, working with FAA regulations and Regulatory AdministrationDevelop integrated plans, establish and lead teams, monitor and respond to technical developments throughout the life of a customer introduction programManage risk & opportunities, and support cross-functional & cross-Integrated Product Team issuesLead cross-functional technical integration, certification and project management in support of resolving complex issues to help deliver airplanes, return airplanes into service, resolve supply chain issues, mitigate risks, actualize opportunities, delivery and production stream sustainabilityLead detailed investigations to ensure system integration and compliance, with requirements and to preclude safety issuesCommunicate routinely with Internal and External Customers (peers, stakeholders, senior and executive leadership), Regulators and/or suppliers

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science10+ years’ experience performing complex engineering or system integration work7+ years’ experience in leading and/or managing complex projects5+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with senior executives, customers, stakeholders, peers and business partners9+ years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

7+ years of experience with Transport, Boeing 7-Series and/or McDonnell Douglas Aircraft5+ years’ of experience with US and/or foreign aircraft certification/regulatory processes14+ years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experienceGood communication skills and a self-starter that takes initiatives without supervisionAdaptable and able to operate in a dynamic environment to meet objectives on timeCertification and/or experience working with FAA regulations and Regulatory AdministrationProject Management exposure / experience (e.g., Project Management Body of Knowledge [PMBOK], ANSI/PMI 99-001-2008)Ability to quickly analyze, understand, organize and communicate complex technical concepts/problems across multiple disciplinesExperience with leading major design changes through multiple phases of product and certification lifecycleAbility to work out of comfort zone, where process definition does not exist or is unclearTake ownership/initiative, pull teams together, establish battle rhythm and remove roadblocks

Summary Pay Range (Level 4): $122,400 - $165,000

Summary Pay Range (Level 5): $150,450 - $203,500
