Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is currently seeking a number of Senior Flight Test & Evaluation Engineers to join our test teams in a number of roles of varying experience levels performing developmental and certification testing of commercial airplanes and military derivatives.
The teams operate primarily out of Boeing Field in Seattle, Washington with some testing in Everett and Renton, as well as occasional testing at various domestic and international sites for up to 2-4 weeks at a time.
We’re looking for engineers who can function in a dynamic and exciting flight test environment. Our engineers plan, execute and document testing of Boeing commercial and military derivative aircraft in order to assure product safety, performance, regulatory certification & contractual commitments.
Position Responsibilities:
We have opening across a broad variety of Test and Evaluation engineering roles who perform functions such as:
Test Director:
Effectively plan and sequence, a test or block of Ground Tests, Flight Tests or Simulator Sessions.
Supports development & execution of test brief, execution, debrief /post test materials
Effectively lead/direct a multi-disciplinary test team onboard test aircraft to successfully execute a test on experimental or production platforms.
Coordinates and support remote based testing operations.
This role requires maintaining flight qualifications to fly onboard military derivative aircraft.
Ground Operations:
Provide engineering definition and authorization for airplane configuration changes including developmental hardware and software.
Utilize extensive airplane level knowledge to effectively provide engineering support to reconcile airplane discrepancies and support certification efforts.
Leverage all of the above domain knowledge to release the airplane for test.
Fly onboard experimental test aircraft as Cabin Safety focal and Weights engineer.
Work multiple shifts on a rotational basis to support maintenance activities.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
3+ years of experience working in a flight test and/or airplane/systems integration lab test environment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Proficiency with one or more of the following areas: aircraft test design/planning, test execution, operation of airplane systems, test article configuration control, aircraft safety protocols, data collection and analysis, airplane maintenance practices or experiences on surveillance platforms in a test or operator role
