Find your future with us.The Boeing (BCA) Boeing Commercial Airlines team is looking for a highly motivated First-Line Manager located in Everett, WA, Seattle, WA, Renton, WA orNorth Charleston, SC.
The Supply Chain Estimating Organization is seeking a results-oriented, customer-focused manager to lead the Cost Recovery — Major Disruptions team. This first-line manager will lead a team that proactively and rapidly captures costs and develops fully-substantiated recovery / damages claims for significant production disruption events caused by suppliers (e.g., late or non-conforming parts, manufacturing disruptions, engineering support impacts). The role leads a team based near major final assembly sites in the Puget Sound, WA, Mesa, AZ, and North Charleston, SC to enable close partnership with airplane programs and expedite major claims. This role requires close collaboration with program teams; the manager will be expected to build strong relationships with cross-functional, executive leaders and execution teams regardless of location.
What Success Looks Like:
Timely delivery of defensible, fully-substantiated claims that recover appropriate costs associated with major supplier-caused disruptions
High-performing, well-developed team that partners effectively with Program, Supply Chain, Finance, Contracts and Legal
Standardized, scalable estimating approaches for complex disruptions that reduce cycle time and improve claim quality
Clear visibility and reliable reporting of major cost recovery performance and realized recoveries to senior leadership
Position Responsibilities:
Lead, coach and develop a team of Cost Recovery analysts (Boeing and contract) to deliver timely, high-quality estimates and claims for major supplier-caused disruptions
Integrate with Program Operations, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Contracts and Legal to capture all applicable direct and indirect costs associated with major disruption events
Refine processes enabling effective scoping of impacts and aligning cross-functional partners to approach and timing while providing consistent support and visibility to program and supply chain leaders
Enable consistent development, assembly, and presentation of fully-substantiated recovery claims for top-priority, major disruption events; including supporting documentation for negotiations and settlement with suppliers.
Develop and implement costing methods and estimating approaches for non-standard and complex disruption impacts
Provide routine visibility and performance reporting on major cost recoveries throughout the lifecycle of the claim
Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools and standards to support a “one cost recovery team” culture and to accelerate capture and claim execution
Prioritize team workload and recovery projects in partnership with program and supply chain leadership to align claim throughput with execution team priorities
Manage workforce planning, performance management, hiring, and day-to-day people leadership responsibilities for the team
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):
5+ years of collective experience in relevant functional areas (examples: Estimating, Finance, Contracts, Procurement Financial Analysis, Supply Chain, Supplier Management, Industrial Engineering)
1+ years of people and/or project leadership experience (managing analysts or cross-functional project teams)
2+ years of experience interacting with cross-functional stakeholders (Program, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Legal)
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal business partners and senior leaders
Strong oral and written communication skills with experience presenting to and driving accountability in senior leadership forums
Previous experience in a formal or informal leadership role
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Prior experience developing complex cost estimates, claims, or damages assessments related to supplier disruption
Familiarity with Boeing Supply Chain processes and program operations at major final assembly sites
Experience in Business Intelligence or data analytics tools (examples: SQL, Tableau, Power BI) and strong data interpretation skills
Demonstrated capacity to rapidly synthesize technical and business data to ensure quality and comprehensiveness during management reviews
Experience with cross-functional negotiation support and familiarity working with Contracts and Legal teams
Experience working in a geographically distributed / virtual team environment and growing team capability
