Boeing’s Global Real Estate and Facilities (GREF) organization is seeking a Controls Technician, at either Experienced or Senior level, to join our Facilities Engineering team in Renton, WA.

This role supports the design, development, procurement, and modification of Mechanical/Electrical/Controls systems and infrastructure in Renton, WA, while also supporting our Seattle site. Individuals with a passion for safe and reliable facilities systems and equipment will excel in this role. In this position, you will focus on industrial building controls supporting HVAC systems, steam generation and distribution, compressed air systems, plumbing and fire protection systems. You will collaborate with other skilled engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to maintain & improve our controls systems and develop long range plans to ensure system sustainability.

Position Responsibilities:

Develop conceptual designs, cost estimates and project schedules for equipment installations requiring control hardware, Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs) and control logic development/programming

Interpret and analyze regulations, standards, codes and ordinances to assist with controldesign

Tailor project design documents to incorporate control requirements from various stakeholders

Review and approve control designs for compliance with requirements, codes andregulations

Verify equipment specifications align with existing control infrastructure

Support construction projects by providing input on vendor selection and proposal review

Ensure accuracy of drawing archives by reviewing contractor-controlled drawing submittals

Produce detailed design documents, project drawings and specifications

Develop and update design standards and operating procedures

Communicate problems and issues for resolution and provide maintenance support for control systems

Provide input to infrastructure planning and recommend capital improvements

Determine the cause of control failures and facilitate improvements in asset effectiveness

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor's degree or higher ABET accredited electrical or mechanical engineering

5+ years of experience in PLC programming, controls engineering, electrical system design, or a related role

5+ years of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications

3+ years of experience working in a multi-project, multi-disciplinary organization

3+ years experience using AutoCAD or similar software

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

5+ years experience applying engineering principles and techniques while complying with applicable codes and regulations (i.e. IBC, IMC, UPC, WSEC, and ASME)

Experience determining the cause of asset failures and reduction in asset capacity by using reliability tools and methods (e.g., life cycle analysis, condition-based maintenance, root cause failure methodology, mean time between failures, fault tree analysis, etc.)

Experience leading and collaborating within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment

Experience frequently interacting and collaborating with inter-organizational personnel, including project managers, construction managers, maintenance staff, and contractors

Level 3 Summary Level Pay Range: $111,350 - $150,650

Level 4 Summary Level Pay Range: $135,150 - $182,850
