The Boeing Company is looking for a Data Scientist to join our team in either Berkeley, MO or Seattle, WA. This position supports the enterprise Design/Build Systems & Tools team, working across the enterprise for Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E). The successful candidate will join a geographically dispersed and multidisciplinary infrastructure team that is responsible for developing and supporting engineering products used by design, manufacturing, and industrial engineers, as well as technicians and mechanics who support the BT&E test labs.

This role requires the analysis of internal and external data across a broad array of systems that are integrated into multiple data warehouses. The applicant will be expected to develop both predictive and prescriptive analytics for teams supporting both lab test and flight test teams. They will be collaborating with Data Solutions Architects, Systems Design & Integration Specialists, Systems Engineers, Business Intelligence Analysts, and Software Application Developers to support a software and analytics suite that integrates Boeing AI/ML tools into engineering and business systems in novel ways.

The ideal candidate will help with the architecture of the overall vision planning and road-mapping activities for the Design/Build data science solutions as well as designing and implementing the systems, tools, and processes necessary to support enterprise functional excellence strategies.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Senior and Lead level Data Scientists.

Position Responsibilities:

Develops integrated roadmaps for analytics capability development leveraging internal and external resources

Determines strategies for the progression of analytics to align with business focus and priorities

Leads cross-functional teams that determine, define and deploy highly complex predictive/prescriptive analytic solutions to meet business goals

Evaluates business objectives, determines stakeholder needs and identifies requirements

Chooses best fit methods, defines algorithms, validates and deploys models to achieve business results

Performs necessary data preparation and enhancements to models

Creates and develops new methodologies to address unmet analysis needs

Develops the end-to-end data feed from source systems to a data warehouse for descriptive, predictive, and statistical analysis.

Supports data governance, data mapping, and data dictionary for Design/Build

Translates customer requirements into data science solutions and AI integration

Creates data visualizations to meet customer requirements

Supports the Systems Vision Plan and Roadmap for Design/Build organization

Develops a working knowledge of core systems such as GOLD, VSVT, OWB, CMES, MESci, & BLIS

Coordinates with business partners to understand their engineering and operations requirements

Works with the Systems & Tools team to integrate new data science methodologies into existing and new applications

Trains users on how to utilize new data science tools

Develops strategies for integrating legacy systems into next generation systems with AI integration

Supports major projects by defining the work scope, estimated cost, and scheduling through the performance of risk analysis using project management tools

Technical Skills

Expert with SQL (complex stored procedures, views, CTE’s)

Expert with ETL Platforms such as SSIS, AWS Glue, Data Factory, Dataflow, Informatica, Hadoop

Expert developing/implementing new processes across an organization

Expert using Data Science to develop practical data models

Experience integrating predictive analytics into business processes

Experienced with Data Visualization platforms such as Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, Excel, Google Charts

Experience with calling Restful APIs in multiple object-oriented languages

Experience with supporting data governance, data dictionaries, and data mappings

Experienced leveraging AI APIs for data and predictive analysis

Experience building relationships with internal/external customers

Experience working with end users for gathering and document requirements

Experience with Agile methodology (and Git/ADO/Jira)

Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite of Apps

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Level 5: 10 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Summary Pay Range for Senior level (Level 4): $135,150 – $195,500

Summary Pay Range for Lead level (Level 5): $154,700 – $224,250
