Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) Sapphire is looking for a dynamic Data Migration Senior Manager to join the team in Berkeley, MO; Arlington, VA; El Segundo, CA; Houston, TX; Huntington Beach, CA; Huntsville, AL; Mesa, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; San Antonio, TX; Ridley Park, PA; Plano, TX; Seal Beach, CA; or Seattle, WA.

The selected candidate will serve as a program manager to lead enterprise-wide data migration efforts that move critical information from legacy systems to modern data platforms as part of the BDS transition to Sapphire. The successful candidate will own program strategy, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and communications across complex, cross-functional initiatives. This role requires experience with data governance, ETL/ELT processes, master data management, cloud migrations, API integrations, and change management.

Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) supports more than 100 product teams, as they enable Boeing business partner leaders to deliver our products and services to our customers. BDS is modernizing its foundational product lifecycle management (PLM), manufacturing operations management (MOM), and enterprise resources planning (ERP) systems; enhancing its data strategies; and improving the alignment of its execution processes via a program called Sapphire that is a joint effort between BDS and IDT&S.

Position Responsibilities:

Define program strategy, tactics, deliverables, and success criteria for multi-phase migration efforts

Develop and maintain integrated program plans, budgets, resourcing models, and milestone tracking; adjust plans to meet evolving requirements

Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams of architects, engineers, data analysts, testers, business stakeholders, and vendors

Oversee data discovery, profiling, cleansing, taxonomy alignment, mapping, transformation, and lineage documentation

Design and implement migration orchestration, cutover strategies, reconciliation tests, performance validation, and rollback procedures

Ensure data security, privacy, regulatory compliance, and retention policies are applied throughout the migration lifecycle

Ensure alignment with data governance frameworks, stewardship, and acceptance criteria for migrated assets

Manage third-party vendors, contracts, procurement, and vendor performance assessments, as necessary

Partner with Business Change Management leader to drive stakeholder communications, executive reporting, steering committee briefings, and change management activities

Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues; lead escalation and resolution processes

Conduct post-migration validation, optimization, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

10+ years of experience in program or portfolio management with enterprise-scale data migrations or modernizations

10+ years of experience leading a cross-functional team

5+ years of experience within information technology

Capable of traveling up to 30% of the time

Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s Degree or higher

Active Top Secret Security Clearance

Experience with relational and non-relational databases, data integration tools, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs, and scripting

Experience in leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and vendor governance skills

Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or Agile/Scrum

Experience in Product Data Management (PDM), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: $174,250 - $270,250
