Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lean Practitioner to support the BDS Operational Excellence Team in Tukwila, WA.

The successful candidate will be a Lean+ / Lean manufacturing expert to support Boeing Production System implementation and maturity and work collaboratively with BDS Plant manufacturing teams to drive Cost of Function project execution.

This person will be responsible for working in partnership with BDS program / plant manufacturing teams and fabrication Centers of Excellence, along with other stakeholders throughout the enterprise, to drive the integration of BPS / Operational Excellence best practices to enable world-class manufacturing system performance and efficiency.

The successful candidate will be expected to apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach with internal and external partners and leverage his/her knowledge of manufacturing processes, Lean Six Sigma, safety, quality, productivity, and affordability to shape the planning, development, and execution of Boeing Production Systems solutions to satisfy program needs.

Position Responsibilities:

Connect Lean principles and strategy to execution and results – mature Seek, Speak, Listen and closed loop for continuous improvementLead and develop Lean strategies for Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B) to include all facets/ functions of businessDevelop and deploy systematic approach to capture and replicate innovations and improvement best practicesRepresent Lean / continuous improvement function in program reviews and strategic planningOperationalize data analytics into daily Lean practice and prioritiesInstructs others in continuous improvement tools and principlesDevelops and updates instructional materialsSeeks out new tools and techniquesTailors message to specific audience levelGuides the effective application and integration of LEAN implementationLeads and facilitates complex and high visibility process improvement effortsDevelops an integrated strategy and assists with its strategic deploymentApplies and integrates improvement processes and tools across Mobility, Surveillance & Bombers (MS&B)Leads the development of new improvement tools. Benchmarks best practicesLeads and facilitates the improvement and standardization of enterprise policies and proceduresAssesses business capability and capacityRepresents the LEAN improvements function in program reviews

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

8+ years of experience implementing lean principles, to include identifying opportunities and making recommendations for value stream improvements that resulted in improved business position through culture transformation.8+ years of experience planning and facilitating Lean+ workshops (e.g., BPSM /AIW / 3P / Kaizen / VSM, Process Mapping, AIW, DK)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Bachelor’s degree or higherProject management certificationKnowledge and application of the Boeing Production System (BPS)Previous experience with business case development, stakeholder alignment, benefits capture, institutionalization, and continuous improvements.

Summary pay range: $135,150 – $182,850 USD
