Find your future with us.Boeing Commercial AirplanesOffboard Communications Team is seeking an Associate Electrical Network and Digital Connectivity System Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Everett, Washington.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading, maintaining Offboard Connectivity Systems and Connectivity solutions to support cutting-edge aerospace projects. All projects center on the translation of concepts and high-level requirements to specific architectures and operational specifications including physical integration of electrical systems and components into our complex airplanes. Work with worldwide supplier base and leverage customer collaboration to implement high quality and service ready system hardware and software. Validate designs through both laboratory qualification testing and airplane system testing. Work with aircraft systems from initial concept through development, hardware qualification, system testing and aircraft certification. This position will be assigned to work within ENDS Connectivity Group which includes but is not limited to Onboard Systems, Offboard Communication, End-to-End Architecture testing and more.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develops and documents moderately complex mechanical, electronic and electrical system requirementsDefine Hardware and Software requirements and specificationsTests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirementsAssists in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirementsSolves problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycleResearches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needsParticipate as a contributing member to any airplane installation designs and certification efforts for Connectivity Systems and Airplane ProgramsWork with external organizations within Boeing’s Commercial Airplanes, Global Service, and Test & Evaluation organizations to establish holistic end to end functions that can be verifiedEngage with airline customers to understand their intended use of Cabin and Network Systems solutionsDevelop and execute detailed, integrated test procedures/plansDefine and configure Lab setup for TestingParticipate in Flight Test evaluation of Connectivity Systems
Travel Requirement:
Must be willing and able to travel 25% of the time domestically and internationally.
Work Authorization:
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at Everett, WA location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement2+ years of experience working in an electrical design engineering environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering degree.Experience within Systems hardware and software design.Demonstrated project management skills within a fast paced highly integrated environment.Experience with Computer NetworkingExperience Troubleshooting/DebuggingExperience with Digital Communication
