The Boeing Company is on the lookout for a talented Aircraft Structures Mechanic to join their Joint and Installation team in Renton and Everett, WA.

You will be a integral part as you will play a pivotal role in assembling and installing components, wiring, and equipment for the critical structural assembly of awe-inspiring aircraft. Prepare to be captivated by the thrill of working in a final assembly/fabrication environment, where your expertise and training will be put to the test. Drawing upon your extensive knowledge and certifications, you will embark on a daily adventure, utilizing your exceptional skills to complete assigned tasks. With a keen eye for detail, you will decipher intricate drawings and comprehend work instructions, allowing you to identify the precise location of your work on the aircraft/part/tooling. Equipped with a comprehensive array of hand tools, parts, and equipment, you will execute your work with precision, ensuring flawless results that exceed expectations.

Position Responsibilities:

Utilizing engineering requirements and installation plans, procedures and specifications, set up tools and equipment in order to drill holes and install fasteners involving complex structures and double contoured skin panels, contoured spaces, in composite, or composite Ti stack-up structure

Use of a variety of hand and machine tools, including precision alignment, drilling and test equipment. manual and automated/numerical controlled complex tools such as track drillers, Gapman, shim mill, zephyr, back markers, squeezes, offset rivet dyes, flex track and bucking bars.

Look up/read/comprehend technical work instructions, drawings and/or specifications.

Use chemical lubricants, solvents, sealants, coatings, primers, adhesives, paints and special finishes.

Using a computer in a production environment .

Assemble and install parts, structural components and sub-assemblies to build and attach major wing assemblies. This includes sealing, plumbing system and electrical components. Work on composite/metal aircraft.

Using drills and high impact vibratory tools (bucking, riveting), in addition to screwdrivers, lock bolt puller, power screwdriver, C-squeeze, ratchet wrench, nut runner, torque wrenches, crimpers, cable tools and various other hand tools.

Inspect work for quality and check for FOD (Foreign Object Debris).

Operate mechanical lifts of various types (e.g., scissors lifts, elevated work platforms).

Continuous (6-8 Hrs) Flexion/extension (head bent down, head bent back), handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching (overhead), Lying down (back, side, front), rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist, walking.

Frequent (3-6 Hrs) exposure to constant noise and inside a confined space.

Continuous (6-8 Hrs) bending at the waist, handling (holding/grasping), standing, use of high impact vibratory tools, working from an elicited platform.

Lifting/Carrying/Pushing/pulling 10-35 pounds.

Continuous (6-8 Hrs) Climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), Crawling, Crouching (squatting).

Finger manipulation (keyboarding, other).

Reading from a computer screen, printed drawings or documents.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

1+ year experience using hand tools and/or hand-held power tools

1+ years experience following oral and written instructions.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience performing aircraft structural and mechanical work.

1+ years of experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics or similar industry; this can include education and military.

Enrolled in a Boeing partnered manufacturing related high school or community and technology college academic program.

Typical Education & Experience

High School Diploma and/or General Education Diploma (GED).

Summary pay range: $24.50 - $43.74
