Microsoft Services is a growing, multi-billion-dollar segment inside Microsoft that provides advanced technical support and services to thousands of our largest global customers. The paid Support Services component of the business is amidst a major transformation to better align to our customers' journey to the cloud. As part of that transformation, we've built strategic capabilities to more nimbly capitalize on technology innovation, both internally (across Azure, Office, Dynamics, etc.) and externally – the latter by tracking competitors' services offerings and defining how we can stay two steps ahead.

This Compete team role will have you landing a variety of high-impact deliverables to drive Services innovation forward: Track 2-3 major rivals in terms of their services, training, onboarding, automation and support capabilities, and contribute insights to a biweekly Compete newsletter. Project management of primary research 'deep dives' with a variety of stakeholders across the company, and construction of analysis models for your target companies. Evangelism and relationship building across Services, the product groups, One Commercial Partner, Customer Support and other Compete organizations
Chief attributes of this role are a background in and passion for competitive intelligence and strategy, with strong writing and presentation skills. The ideal candidate will have: 3+ years' experience in competitive intelligence/market research at one or more software/cloud companies, technology research organizations or consulting firms 5+ years of go-to-market experience in the software industry, including roles such as product project, and/or technology industry analyst relations Strong people skills and an ability to cultivate relationships outside your immediate work orbit Experience at software
