The Cloud Capacity Supply Chain and Provisioning (CSCP) organization shoulders the critical responsibility of delivering to the cloud customer, across Microsoft, the promise of elasticity and scale at optimal cost and speed. For CSCP, this promise is architected on a mission of an integrated Capacity Planning, Supply Chain and Provisioning Organization that delivers capacity for all Cloud Services predictably, through intelligent systems. We are at the front of Microsoft's cloud growth - forecasting, planning and executing the end-end supply chain leading all the way to provisioning capacity to Microsoft's datacenters as well as managing capacity to provide the best customer experience. We are looking for a software architect that can help define our overall software architecture and roadmap for a complex set of workflows that help execute on our mission.

The role has scope for broad impact, but will require strong collaboration capability, and ability to influence across organizational lines. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a demonstrated track record of providing technology vision and driving them through. The candidate would play a key role in helping the leadership team with technical strategy as well as guide technology investments in highly ambiguous and exploratory areas. The ideal candidate will have Solid computer science foundation Strong problem solving and analytical skills Strong communication skills – written, oral as well as presentation skills An ability to engage with all levels of software engineers as well as CVPs An ability to lead/influence without authority can-do attitude and ability to go deep in unfamiliar technology areas ability to engage w/ data scientists and operations researchers Exceptional ability in defining product architecture and strategy An operations research or data science background is highly desired Strong track record of delivering
