Primary duties: Provide leadership to the software engineering teams: architecture, design, development and quality assurance. Partner with Product Management and other teams in O365 to meet immediate and longer term objectives. Manage the team to achieve target scope, schedule and cost objectives. Accomplish this while still supporting peer teams with the ultimate goal of quality products. Identify and create plan of action to hire and retain top talent, strengthen bench talent and succession plans within the software engineering teams.
Successful candidates need to exhibit these attributes that will enhance their ability to succeed in this role: Strong desire to succeed and motivate others. Experience successfully leading, growing and retaining teams. Demonstrates both strong analytic and big picture capabilities in problem solving approaches. Deep understanding of agile principles and methods, but also an interest and ability in implementing, refining and leading hybrid development models. Ability to consider upstream and downstream process impacts and implications. Ability to establish and manage priorities in a high pace environment
