Are you someone who loves to work on complex problems and loves turning high density, complex functionality into beautiful designs? Does the idea of creating solutions that will affect millions of users who care deeply about both productivity and ease-of-use resonate with you? Visual Studio is a livelihood tool which enables developers to build exciting new applications that run on all Microsoft platforms, and the Developer Division Design Team is looking for a designer who will define and deliver a first-class user experience for developers using our tools. You will be joining a group of talented designers who focus on defining, designing and delivering a superior user experience for development teams. This area includes a broad spectrum of design challenges spanning client applications, multiple programming languages, database and web development.

Responsibilities involve collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams (program management, development, usability and external teams) to define the product space, user models and product/feature definitions; working with usability to understand user issues and exploring design solutions to meet those needs; leading design exercises, providing detailed design specifications and driving excellence in the final visual details of our products.
Required Qualifications - Design portfolio Consisting of at least 3 websites or Apps that have shipped. - BFA/BA in Design field (Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, HCI) OR 5-7 years industry experience - At least 5 years of experience in at least one major design software, for example: Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma or Sketch. Preferred Qualifications - Strong interaction and visual design skills. - Ability to develop a cohesive overall design strategy and assess possible design solutions against this criteria. - Ability to generate and drive design ideas and to communicate those ideas
