In modern games, much of the gameplay exists in the UI, and Microsoft games celebrate this by treating the UI as a critical component of the user experience. The Global Publishing team for Microsoft Games Studios is seeking a Principal UI and UX Design Director to collaborate with and inspire our developers as well as Microsoft Studios User Research and other internal partners to ship innovative, intuitive, highly polished games. We work with the best game designers and developers in the world to bring indelible entertainment to XBOX and Windows 10 PC, and we're hoping you can help us move this critical design field into the future. Successful candidates will be world-class creators, collaborators, and communicators who are passionate about elevating others to do their best work. As Principal UI and UX Design Director for all of Global Publishing's games, you will have the unique opportunity to work on many titles, often simultaneously, learning from and advising design peers from studios

Work with Executive Producers and Creative Directors for Global Publishing games to help our partners conceive, design, and land excellent UI and UX experiences. Know and refer to the state-of-the-art design principles, examples, and tools. Create beautiful and functional wireframes, prototypes and other UI and UX designs for game clients, storefronts as well as promotional websites etc. Partner with User Research to generate and communicate actionable insights for development partners. Be an active member of the Global Publishing design team, mentoring other designers and learning from them. Assist
10+ years UI and UX design experience. Game experience is valuable but not required and can include mobile, VR/AR etc. not just console and PC games. Expertise creating interaction and visual design documents including user stories, conceptual models, annotated wireframes, storyboards, creative briefs—and more. Command of fundamental visual design disciplines: typography, iconography, composition, color, composition, layout, etc. Command of the latest tools of your trade and a passion for keeping your skillset cutting-edge sharp.
