The Amazon Devices team designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics, including the best-selling Kindle family of products. We have also produced groundbreaking devices like Fire tablets, Fire TV, Amazon Dash, and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create? Interested in helping us localize software for products such as Kindle, Fire Tablets, FireTV and others? The Kindle International team is seeking a talented Software Engineer with a proven background in localization, localizability, and globalization to deliver on our International releases. Can you design and build software localization tools, processes, systems and automation for cutting edge software and services? Can you proactively co-ordinate with multiple software development teams on internationalization requirements, drive core fixes and integrate updates in a timely fashion? Are you able to quickly dive deep on localization bugs solving issues in multiple languages at once? Amazon's Digital Services division needs
· Fluency in at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, Java, C#, or Python. · Product development experience (including C++, Java, XML, messaging protocols, and Web Services) · Experience building localization processes, tools and infrastructure · 5+ years of relevant work experience in software localization · Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related technical discipline · Excellent problem-solving skills · Experience communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels across multiple business units · Fundamental engineering skills across
