Microsoft antivirus technologies consist of a wide variety of software encompassing kernel drivers, user mode system services, application and user interface level components. They include virtualization and emulation technologies, behavior detection, pattern matching, file format and network protocol parsers, exploit and intrusion prevention, reverse engineering systems, and much more.
(As a developer in this position your areas of focus will be Performance, Updateability, and Protection Features in the M365 endpoint protection products. You will work closely with Program Managers and other Security Engineering disciplines to deliver core features in the endpoint protection client suite and the tools that power analysis in the cloud. You will fill a vital role in the fight against malware and see the results of your work contributing to protection of hundreds of millions of customers.
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent - 3+ years of experience in the software engineering industry with strong problem-solving skills - Excellent coding, debugging, and validation skills in a primary language (C/C++ preferred), complemented by secondary language for scripting Preferred Qualifications: - Good understanding of OS internals (e.g. Windows, Linux) - Proven track record of owning features/scenarios/projects and driving them from conception to completion - Passion for quality, customer satisfaction, and new technologies Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government
