The Amazon Exports and Expansion team is looking for a Software Development Manager (SDM) to help deliver key exports delivery experience improvement projects. This role will work closely with partners such as Technical Program Managers and Product Managers and own the delivery of systems and services that positively impacts the delivery experience available to our international export customers. Our business is growing and the investment in our tech teams is growing. To succeed in this position, you should be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, possess strong organizational skills, have the ability to lead a team of strong engineers, make key decisions impacting the services you own, and communicate effectively with senior management. Ideally, you are able to identify problems before they happen and implement solutions that detect and prevent them. Basic Qualifications · Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent in Computer Science, or related field · 3+ years professional experience in software development building systems that scale · Candidates must be self-directed, demonstrate leadership potential and be team players · Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations · Strengths in coding, data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, scalability, availability
