Alexa News keeps customers informed about the world around them by seamlessly integrating the news they want most into their everyday lives. We build news experiences across multiple devices, including the Echo Family, Fire TV, and Fire Tablet. These experiences touch every aspect of news, from lean-back (“Alexa, what’s the news?”) to specific questions (“Alexa, what’s the latest with the election?”). Our teams work in a fast-paced environment with people who are passionate about our customers, experiences, and systems. We’re looking for a Software Development Manager (SDM) to lead and grow the programs we support. · Bachelor’s degree · Minimum 3 years of software development experience · Minimum 5 years of people management experience of a team of 5 engineers or more · Experience managing the day-to-day activities of an engineering team using Agile processes · Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, engineering, or other technical discipline · 5 years or more of software development experience · 7 years or more of people management experience of a team of 10 engineers or more · Experience with shipping, operating, and maintaining high-volume traffic, low-latency systems · Experience with building
