As a Software Development Manager for the Spoken Word domain within Alexa Entertainment, you will have an enormous opportunity to impact the customer experience, design, architecture, and implementation of cutting edge products that will be used every day by people you know. Spoken Word is a relatively new domain for Alexa, which offers a unique opportunity to build brand new voice experiences from the ground up. In this role, you will be responsible for leading teams of engineers in design, development, testing, and deployment of a range of products on voice, desktop, mobile platforms, and core backend capabilities. A successful candidate will have an established
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline · 5+ years experience managing software development teams · 5+ years of OO software development experience in Java, C#, or another OO-based language· Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline · Hands-on architectural or distributed systems experience · OO software development experience in with multiple languages · Experience building and operating extremely high volume and highly scalable web services · Experience building and operating highly available, 24x7 services · Experience leading through others and especially
