Whether you're passionate about building highly scalable and reliable systems or are a software developer who likes to solve business problems, the Customer Order Workflow (COW) team has a software development engineer position open for creative and independent engineers with a passion for web services to evolve Amazon's next-generation order management platform. We are the engine that powers the Order Management process for Amazon's retail business. Millions of times a day, our systems make sure that Amazon customers get their stuff, and we coordinate the processing of hundreds of clients and dependent systems. Services that we own respond to thousands of service requests per second and they are always up. As a member of the Customer Order
Basic Qualifications - Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field - 2-4 years of industry experience. - Solid experience in Java, C++ or C# (expert in at least one) - Solid expertise in Data Structures and Algorithms - Solid understanding of Object Oriented design and concepts - Experience in Perl, Ruby, or Python (at least one) - Solid UNIX or Linux experience. - Good understanding of networking concepts - Experience with scaling and performance of large distributed systems - Great understanding of database theory and solid experience in at least one relational DBMS - Good
