AWS Cloud Directory is a fully managed, multi-tenant data store that provides automatic scaling to hundreds of millions of objects while supporting single digit millisecond latency at scale, different consistency options, robustness and data durability. Cloud Directory is a tier-0 service and a fundamental building block for AWS. We are looking for a seasoned Software Development Manager to lead and grow a team to design and build new services to push the scale and durability capabilities to the next order of magnitude for Cloud Directory. As an SDM, you will truly care about growing the people and genuinely passionate about solving hard distributed systems problems while building the next generation functionality for some of the largest QPS customers of AWS. You must have an established background in building large distributed systems, strong technical skills, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical discipline · 5+ years of experience as a software developer · 3+ years of experience managing people · Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for the design and implementation of large-scale systems as well as experience in taking such systems from design to production and operating at large scale · Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility tradeoffs · Bachelor's, Masters or PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering or related technical discipline · Ability to understand
